    Combien de dalles me faut-il ?

    An accurate calculation of the number of tiles required is essential for a successful flooring project. The starting point is the effective dimensions given in the product datasheets – these are the measurements on which the calculation should be based. Manufacturing tolerances and tolerances inherent to the components must also be taken into account.

     

    For a rectangular area, the length (in cm) is divided by the effective length of a tile and the result rounded up to the next whole number. The same procedure is applied to the width, and the two results are then multiplied together. Example: for an area of 940 cm × 300 cm and tiles with an effective dimension of 50 × 50 cm, the calculation is 940 ÷ 50 = 18.8 → 19 and 300 ÷ 50 = 6.0 → 6, giving 19 × 6 = 114 tiles. This corresponds to approximately 9.5 m × 3 m, or 28.5 m².

     

    For areas of irregular shape – such as trapezoidal, triangular or with curved sides – it is advisable to draw up a laying plan to scale. The area is sketched at a scale of 1:100 (1 cm = 1 m) on graph paper, so that the laying pattern and offcuts can be planned in advance and waste minimised.

     

    Alternatively, the online laying planner can be used, which is available for every WARCO product in the web shop. After entering the area dimensions, the tool suggests various patterns and automatically calculates the number of tiles required.

     

    It is advisable to order a few tiles over and above the calculated requirement to allow for any laying errors or subsequent damage.
